Dawn Richardson Wilson, a talented Canadian bobsledder, was born on September twenty-sixth, nineteen ninety-nine, in Accra, Ghana. Currently residing in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, she has made a significant mark in the world of bobsledding, showcasing her versatility by competing in both pilot and brakewoman positions.
Before her foray into bobsledding, Richardson Wilson was an accomplished athlete in various sports, including rugby, track and field, and ultimate frisbee. Her journey in bobsledding began in earnest in two thousand eighteen when she made her international debut on the North American Cup circuit alongside pilot Kori Hol.
In December of two thousand nineteen, she achieved a remarkable milestone by participating in her first World Cup race, where she finished in fifth place with teammate Christine de Bruin. This performance set the stage for her to become a full-time World Cup brakewoman during the two thousand twenty-one season, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, which limited the Canadian team's competition opportunities to the latter half of the season.
