Deepak Obhrai, born on July fifth, nineteen fifty, was a prominent Tanzanian-born Canadian politician and businessperson. He made significant contributions to Canadian politics, representing the riding of Calgary East until two thousand fifteen and subsequently Forest Lawn from two thousand fifteen onwards. His political journey began with the Reform Party of Canada, and he later became a member of the Conservative Party of Canada, serving from nineteen ninety-seven until his passing in two thousand nineteen.
Throughout his career, Obhrai held the esteemed position of Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs. He was a trailblazer in Canadian politics, being the first Hindu to serve as a Member of Parliament.
