Deirdre McCloskey

Deirdre McCloskey, born on September eleventh, nineteen forty-two, is a prominent American economist and academic known for her extensive contributions to the fields of economics, history, and liberal thought. As of two thousand twenty-three, she holds the esteemed Isaiah Berlin Chair in Liberal Thought at the Cato Institute in Washington, D.C., where she continues to influence contemporary economic discourse.

From two thousand to two thousand fifteen, McCloskey served as a distinguished professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she taught economics and history, as well as English and communication. Her academic journey also includes visiting positions at various prestigious institutions, including the University of Gothenburg, the University of the Free State, and Erasmus University Rotterdam, where she imparted her knowledge in economic history, economics, and philosophy.
