Demetrius Pinder

Demetrius Pinder, born on February 13, 1989, in Freeport, Grand Bahama, is a distinguished Bahamian sprinter specializing in the 400 metres. He showcased his exceptional talent early on, attending Tabernacle Baptist Christian Academy before furthering his athletic career at Essex County Junior College and Texas A&M University.

Pinder's remarkable achievements include breaking the Bahamian national indoor record for the 400 m in March 2011, clocking an impressive 45.33 seconds at the NCAA Division I Indoor Championships. His prowess on the track earned him a silver medal at the 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Istanbul, solidifying his status as a top competitor.

At the 2012 London Olympics, Pinder made headlines as a finalist in the 400 m event, where he placed seventh. However, his crowning achievement came as part of the Bahamas 4 × 400 m relay team, which clinched the gold medal, defeating the heavily favored USA team and setting a national record in the process.
