Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Dennis Rader

Dennis Lynn Rader, born on March 9, 1945, is infamously known as BTK, an acronym for "bind, torture, kill." This American serial killer and mass murderer is responsible for the deaths of at least ten individuals in Wichita and Park City, Kansas, between the years of 1974 and 1991. Rader's modus operandi primarily involved targeting women, often attacking them in their homes, where he would bind them using items found on the premises before ultimately suffocating or strangling them.

Rader's reign of terror in the mid-to-late 1970s was marked by a series of chilling letters sent to law enforcement and media outlets. In these letters, he detailed his heinous crimes and referred to himself as "BTK." He also collected keepsakes from his victims, including personal items such as underwear and driver's licenses. However, in 1979, Rader abruptly ceased his activities, leading to one of the most notorious cold cases in American criminal history.

Despite a lengthy hiatus, Rader resurfaced in 2004, sending letters that hinted at his potential for further violence. His eventual capture came in February 2005, following a meticulous investigation that linked him to the crimes through DNA evidence and personal items. Rader pled guilty to his crimes in 2005 and was sentenced to ten consecutive life terms without the possibility of parole.

Currently, Dennis Rader is incarcerated at the El Dorado Correctional Facility in Kansas, where he remains a figure of both horror and fascination in the annals of criminal history.
