Denys Prokopenko, born on June twenty-seventh, nineteen ninety-one, is a distinguished Ukrainian military officer currently serving as a Brigadier General in the National Guard of Ukraine. He commands the 1st Corps of the Ukrainian National Guard 'Azov' and has played a significant role in the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian War. Prokopenko's military journey began in July two thousand fourteen when he joined the Azov Battalion to combat Pro-Russian separatists in the Donbas region.

After the departure of Azov's founder, Andriy Biletsky, Prokopenko ascended to leadership within the Azov Regiment in two thousand seventeen, earning the rank of Major and becoming the youngest commander in the Ukrainian military.
