Denzil Douglas

The Right Hon. Denzil Llewellyn Douglas, born on January 14, 1953, is a prominent figure in Saint Kitts and Nevis politics, renowned for his extensive service as the nation's prime minister. His tenure spanned from 1995 to 2015, making him the longest-serving individual in this role. Douglas's political journey began as the leader of the Saint Kitts and Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP), a position he held from 1989 until 2021.

Before ascending to the prime ministership, Douglas was the leader of the parliamentary opposition from 1989 to 1995. His leadership was characterized by a commitment to the development and welfare of the citizens of Saint Kitts and Nevis. After a period out of office, he returned to the opposition from 2015 to 2022, demonstrating his enduring influence in the political landscape.
