Derrick Atkins

Derrick Atkins, born on January fifth, nineteen eighty-four, is a distinguished Bahamian sprinter renowned for his exceptional talent in the 100 metres event. With a remarkable personal best of nine point ninety-one seconds, he proudly holds the national record for the Bahamas, showcasing his speed and dedication to the sport.

In addition to his athletic achievements, Atkins shares a familial connection with the world of sprinting, being the second cousin of the celebrated former world record holder Asafa Powell. This connection highlights the rich legacy of sprinting talent within his family.

Transitioning from athlete to coach, Derrick Atkins now serves as the head coach for the women's track and field team at Utah Tech University, an institution formerly known as Dixie State University.
