Devdas Gandhi

Devdas Gandhi, born on May twenty-second, nineteen hundred, was the youngest son of the iconic Mahatma Gandhi and Kasturba Gandhi. His early life began in the Colony of Natal, where he spent his formative years before moving to India as a young adult. This transition marked the beginning of his active involvement in his father's movement for independence, during which he faced imprisonment multiple times for his beliefs.

In addition to his political activism, Devdas carved out a significant career in journalism. He became the editor of the Hindustan Times, a prominent newspaper that played a crucial role in shaping public opinion during a pivotal time in Indian history. His editorial leadership was marked by a commitment to truth and integrity, reflecting the values instilled in him by his father.

Devdas was also instrumental in the establishment of the Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha (DBHPS) in Tamil Nadu in nineteen eighteen. As the first pracharak of the Sabha, he dedicated himself to the promotion of Hindi in southern India, recognizing the importance of language in uniting the diverse cultural landscape of the nation.
