Diadumenian

Diadumenian, born on September fourteenth in the year two hundred eight, was the son of the Roman emperor Macrinus. His brief tenure as a co-ruler began in the year two hundred eighteen, marking a significant yet fleeting chapter in Roman history.

He was elevated to the position of caesar in May of the year two hundred seventeen, shortly after his father's ascension to the imperial throne. This elevation came during a tumultuous period, as Elagabalus, a relative of the recently deceased Caracalla, initiated a revolt in May of the following year.

In the wake of Macrinus' defeat at the Battle of Antioch on June eighth, two hundred eighteen, Diadumenian was sent to seek refuge at the court of Artabanus IV of Parthia. Unfortunately, his journey ended tragically when he was captured and executed.

Following the deaths of both Diadumenian and his father, the Roman Senate declared them enemies of the state. This led to a process known as damnatio memoriae, where their names were struck from records and their images were systematically destroyed.
