Diana Çuli

Diana Çuli, born on April 13, 1951, in Tirana, is a prominent Albanian journalist, writer, and politician. She graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Tirana in 1973, marking the beginning of a distinguished career in media and literature. Following her graduation, she joined the editorial teams of notable publications, including Drita and the French-speaking magazine Les lettres albanaises.

In the early 1990s, Diana became actively involved in the democratic opposition, taking on the role of head of the Independent Women's Forum. Her political journey continued as she became a member of the Albanian Social Democratic Party, advocating for women's rights and social justice.

Since two thousand six, she has represented Albania in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, where she has focused on issues affecting women, particularly those forced into prostitution. Additionally, she has served as the chair of the Albania Women's Federation since two thousand four, further solidifying her commitment to human rights.

Diana's literary contributions include her first short story, Ndërgjegja (Conscience), published in the late 1970s, and a total of eight novels. She is also known for her work as a screenwriter, with notable films such as Hije që mbeten pas (1985), Rrethi i kujtesës (1987), and Bregu i ashpër (1988).
