Diana Van der Vlis

Diana Van der Vlis, born on June ninth, nineteen thirty-five, was a talented Canadian-American actress renowned for her captivating performances on stage and screen. She gained prominence for her roles as Dr. Nell Beaulac on the ABC soap opera Ryan's Hope from nineteen seventy-five to nineteen seventy-six, and as Kate Hathaway Prescott in Where the Heart Is. Her versatility shone through in other daytime dramas, including her portrayal of Sherry Rowan on Ryan's Hope from nineteen eighty-seven to nineteen eighty-nine and Susan Ames Carver on The Secret Storm, where she stepped in for Judy Lewis.

Her journey in the performing arts began in Winnipeg, where she attended university before honing her craft at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. After acting in Canada, she made her way to New York City in nineteen fifty-six, where she quickly found success. Within six weeks of her arrival, she was cast in the Broadway production of The Happiest Millionaire, which led to a three-picture film deal and a lead role in a half-hour NBC program filmed in Paris.

Throughout her career, Diana graced the Broadway stage with notable performances in productions such as Comes a Day, A Mighty Man Is He, A Shot in the Dark, On an Open Road, and The Waltz of the Toreadors. Her film credits include appearances in X: The Man with the X-ray Eyes in nineteen sixty-three, The Incident in nineteen sixty-seven, The Swimmer in nineteen sixty-eight, and Lovespell in nineteen eighty-one.
