Diego Costa, born on October 7, 1988, in Brazil, is a former professional footballer renowned for his role as a striker. His football journey began in his homeland before he made the leap to Europe, joining the Portuguese club Braga at the age of seventeen. Although he did not make an appearance for Braga, he gained valuable experience during loan spells at Penafiel and later at Atlético Madrid, where he would eventually make a significant impact.

After a series of loans, including stints at Celta Vigo and Albacete, Costa found his footing at Real Valladolid in 2009, finishing as the club's top goalscorer. His impressive performances earned him a return to Atlético Madrid, where he initially struggled for a starting position but eventually blossomed into a key player. During his second spell with Atlético, he played a pivotal role in securing a La Liga title, a Copa del Rey title, and a UEFA Super Cup, while also helping the team reach the UEFA Champions League final in 2014.
