Diego (footballer, born 1985)

Diego Ribas da Cunha, born on February 28, 1985, is a distinguished Brazilian former professional footballer renowned for his role as a midfielder. His international career with Brazil commenced in 2003, during which he earned thirty-four caps and netted four goals. Diego's contributions to the national team include participation in the 2003 CONCACAF Gold Cup, victories in the Copa América in 2004 and 2007, and a bronze medal at the 2008 Olympics.

Diego's professional journey began at Santos, where he showcased his talent and helped the team secure two Campeonato Brasileiro Série A titles. In 2004, he made a significant move to Porto, where he continued to collect trophies, although his personal performance saw a decline. After two seasons in Portugal, he transferred to Werder Bremen for a fee of six million euros, where he regained his form, winning domestic honors and playing a pivotal role in reaching the 2009 UEFA Cup Final.
