Diego Lugano, affectionately known as Tota, is a distinguished former professional footballer from Uruguay, celebrated for his role as a central defender. His illustrious career spanned various clubs across South America and Europe, including notable stints at Plaza Colonia, Club Nacional de Football, São Paulo, Fenerbahçe, Paris Saint-Germain, Malaga, and West Bromwich Albion.
