Dimitrios Drivas

Dimitrios Drivas, a notable figure in the world of swimming, was born in the picturesque island of Spetses in Greece in the year eighteen seventy-two. His legacy is particularly tied to the inaugural modern Olympic Games held in Athens in eighteen ninety-six, where he represented his country with pride.

Drivas participated in the unique 100 metres freestyle event specifically designed for sailors of the Greek Navy. This competition saw eleven sailors enter, but only three took to the water, showcasing the challenging nature of the event.
