Dinkha IV

Dinkha IV, born on September fifteenth, nineteen thirty-five, was a prominent Eastern Christian prelate who made significant contributions to the Assyrian Church of the East. His early life began in the village of Darbandokeh, located in Iraq, where he was immersed in the rich traditions of his faith.

Throughout his life, Dinkha IV served as the 120th Catholicos-Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East, a role he embraced with dedication and passion. Notably, he was the first patriarch in four centuries not to hail from the Shimun family, marking a significant shift in the church's leadership.

For the majority of his tenure, Dinkha IV led the church in exile from Chicago, where he worked tirelessly to support and nurture the Assyrian community. His leadership was characterized by a commitment to preserving the church's heritage and fostering unity among its members.
