Dino Meneghin

Dino Meneghin, born on January 18, 1950, in Alano di Piave, Veneto, is a celebrated figure in the world of basketball, renowned as one of Italy's greatest athletes. Standing at 2.06 meters tall, this former professional player has left an indelible mark on the sport, both in Italy and across Europe.

His basketball journey began at the tender age of sixteen when he made his debut in the Italian League with Ignis Varese on November 20, 1966. Over the years, Meneghin showcased his exceptional skills as a center, culminating in a remarkable career that spanned nearly three decades, concluding at the age of forty-five.

Meneghin's legacy is highlighted by his record of seven EuroLeague championships, the most by any player in the competition's history since its inception in nineteen fifty-eight. His prowess on the court earned him accolades, including being named the Best European Player of All-Time by the Spanish magazine Gigantes del Basket in December nineteen ninety-one.

In recognition of his contributions to basketball, Meneghin was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in two thousand three, followed by his inclusion in the Italian Basketball Hall of Fame in two thousand six, and the FIBA Hall of Fame in two thousand ten.
