Djoser, an ancient Egyptian pharaoh of the 3rd Dynasty, is celebrated as the founder of the Old Kingdom. His reign marked a significant epoch in Egyptian history, characterized by monumental architectural advancements.

Born to King Khasekhemwy and Queen Nimaathap, the exact succession of Djoser to the throne remains a topic of scholarly debate. While most Ramesside king lists suggest that a king named Nebka preceded him, the connection between this name and contemporary Horus names is fraught with difficulties, leading some Egyptologists to question the established throne sequence.

One of Djoser's most notable achievements is the construction of his step pyramid, recognized as the earliest colossal stone building in ancient Egypt. This architectural marvel not only symbolizes the ingenuity of the time but also set a precedent for future monumental structures.
