Dominique Fils-Aimé, a talented Canadian singer-songwriter from Quebec, has made significant strides in the music industry since her debut. Born on July tenth, nineteen eighty-four, in Montreal to Haitian immigrant parents, she has carved a unique niche for herself, blending various musical genres to tell the story of African-American music.

Her journey began in earnest with the release of her debut album, Nameless, in two thousand eighteen, which delved into the blues genre as the first part of a trilogy. This was followed by her critically acclaimed album Stay Tuned! in two thousand nineteen, which focused on jazz and earned her the Félix award for “Jazz Album of the Year” at the ADISQ gala. The album was also shortlisted for the prestigious Polaris Music Prize and recognized as one of CBC's top nineteen Canadian albums of the year.

Fils-Aimé's third album, Three Little Words, released in two thousand twenty-one, shifted her focus to soul music and was again shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize. Her contributions to music have not gone unnoticed, as she received a nomination for Best Original Music in a Documentary at the twenty-fourth Quebec Cinema Awards in two thousand twenty-two for her work on the film Alone (Seuls).
