Dominique Perrault, born on April ninth, nineteen fifty-three, is a prominent French architect and urban planner renowned for his innovative designs and contributions to contemporary architecture.

He gained international acclaim for his design of the French National Library, a project that not only showcased his architectural prowess but also earned him the Silver Medal for Town Planning in nineteen ninety-two and the prestigious Mies van der Rohe Prize in nineteen ninety-six.

In recognition of his extensive body of work, Perrault was awarded the Gold Medal by the French Academy of Architecture in two thousand ten and was honored as the Praemium Imperiale Laureate for Architecture in two thousand fifteen.

Perrault received his Diploma in Architecture from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris in nineteen seventy-eight. He furthered his education with postgraduate diplomas in Town Planning from the Ecole supérieure des Ponts et Chaussée and in History from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales.

Currently, he leads Dominique Perrault Architecture (DPA) in Paris, where he continues to influence the field of architecture and urban planning.
