He secured a silver medal in the 4x400 metre relay and a bronze in the 400 metres at the British Commonwealth Games in nineteen sixty-six. His achievements continued at the Pan Am Games, where he won a silver medal in the 4x400 metre relay in nineteen seventy-five and a bronze in the 400 metres in nineteen sixty-seven.

As a member of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Domansky contributed to his team's success as an NCAA champion and was a standout in the 4x400 metre NCAA championship.
