Don Maloney

Don Maloney, born on September fifth, nineteen fifty-eight, is a distinguished Canadian ice hockey executive and former player. Currently, he holds the position of President of Hockey Operations for the Calgary Flames, showcasing his extensive experience and leadership in the sport.

Maloney's professional playing career spanned parts of eleven seasons with the New York Rangers, where he made a significant impact on the ice. Notably, he had the unique opportunity to play alongside his brother, Dave Maloney, further enriching his hockey journey.

Selected as the twenty-sixth player in the nineteen seventy-eight NHL Amateur Draft, Don's talent was recognized early on. His brother, Dave, served as a summer instructor at the Orr-Walton Sports Camp during this pivotal time, highlighting the family's deep-rooted connection to the sport.

Before stepping into his executive role, Maloney also served as the general manager for both the New York Islanders and the Phoenix/Arizona Coyotes, demonstrating his versatility and commitment to the game.
