Donna Weinbrecht

Donna L. Weinbrecht, born on April 23, 1965, is a celebrated American freestyle skier who made history by winning the first gold medal in the inaugural Olympic mogul competitions at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France. Her remarkable achievement not only marked a significant milestone in her career but also in the sport of freestyle skiing.

Raised in West Milford, New Jersey, Donna's journey into sports began with figure skating. Despite her talent, financial constraints limited her coaching opportunities. However, her passion for skiing blossomed when she learned to ski at Hidden Valley in Vernon Township, New Jersey. Weekends spent skiing with her family ignited a lifelong dedication to the sport.

As her family embraced skiing, they purchased a home in Killington, Vermont, where Donna honed her skills on the mogul trails, particularly the challenging Outer Limits. Her commitment to the sport paid off as she became the World Champion in 1991 and secured the title of World Cup moguls season champion five times between 1990 and 1992, as well as in 1994 and 1996.

Even today, Donna remains a prominent figure in the skiing community, frequently seen at Killington hosting mogul training camps and enjoying recreational skiing. Her legacy continues to inspire aspiring skiers around the world.
