Doris Daou

Doris Daou is a distinguished astronomer with roots in Lebanon, who has made significant contributions to the field of space exploration. Born in nineteen sixty-four, she has built a remarkable career that bridges education, public outreach, and scientific research.

Her tenure as the Director for Education and Public Outreach at the NASA Lunar Science Institute showcased her commitment to engaging the public with the wonders of lunar science. In addition, she served as the associate director of the NASA Solar System Exploration Research Virtual Institute (SSERVI), where she played a pivotal role in advancing our understanding of the solar system.

Currently, Doris is the program contact for NASA's Small Innovative Missions for Planetary Exploration (SIMPLEx), where she continues to inspire innovation and exploration in planetary science. Her work not only furthers scientific knowledge but also fosters a greater appreciation for the universe among the general public.
