Dory Funk Jr., born on February third, nineteen forty-one, is a distinguished professional wrestler known for his remarkable contributions to the sport. As the brother of fellow wrestling icon Terry Funk, Dory played a pivotal role in the wrestling landscape, particularly as the promoter of the Amarillo, Texas-based Western States Sports promotion.

Throughout his illustrious career, Funk held the prestigious NWA World Heavyweight Championship once, earning his place as the second-longest reigning champion in history, following the legendary Lou Thesz. In addition to this accolade, he also claimed the WWC Universal Heavyweight Championship and the CWA World Heavyweight Championship, showcasing his versatility and skill in the ring.

In recognition of his significant impact on professional wrestling, Dory Funk Jr. was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in two thousand nine.
