Doug Bentley

Doug Bentley, born on September third, nineteen sixteen, was a prominent Canadian ice hockey player who made a significant impact in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a left winger. His professional career spanned from nineteen thirty-three to nineteen sixty-two, during which he played for the Chicago Black Hawks and the New York Rangers over thirteen seasons.

Throughout his illustrious career, Bentley was recognized for his exceptional skills on the ice, earning a spot on four NHL All-Star teams. He showcased his scoring prowess by leading the league in points and goals during the nineteen forty-two to forty-three season, and again in goals in the following season, nineteen forty-three to forty-four.

Hailing from a family of hockey players, Bentley was one of six brothers who played the sport. Notably, he made NHL history in nineteen forty-three by forming the league's first all-brother line alongside his siblings Max and Reg. Although injuries sidelined him in nineteen fifty-one, he made a triumphant return to the NHL in the nineteen fifty-three to fifty-four season, playing one last time for the Rangers with Max.

In addition to his playing career, Bentley took on the role of player-coach for the Saskatoon Quakers, leading the team to victory in the Pacific Coast Hockey League championship in nineteen fifty-two. His contributions to the sport were recognized when he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in nineteen sixty-four.
