Doug Houda

Doug Houda, born on June third, nineteen sixty-six, is a distinguished Canadian former ice hockey player who made his mark as a defenceman in the National Hockey League (NHL). His journey in professional hockey began when he was drafted in the second round, twenty-eighth overall, by the Detroit Red Wings during the nineteen eighty-four NHL Entry Draft.

Throughout his career, Houda showcased his skills on the ice, contributing to his teams with a blend of defensive prowess and strategic gameplay. After his playing days, he transitioned into coaching, where he continued to influence the sport he loves.

Most recently, Doug served as an assistant coach for the New York Islanders, bringing his extensive experience and knowledge to the bench. Prior to that, he held a similar position with the Detroit Red Wings, further solidifying his legacy within the NHL community.
