Douglas Alexander

Douglas Alexander, born on October twenty-sixth, nineteen sixty-seven, is a prominent Scottish Labour politician with a rich history of public service. He has held the esteemed position of Secretary of State for Scotland since September fifth, twenty twenty-five, having previously served in this role from two thousand six to two thousand seven. A dedicated member of the Labour Party, he represents the Lothian East constituency as a Member of Parliament since his election in July twenty twenty-four.

Alexander's political journey began when he was first elected at the Paisley South by-election in nineteen ninety-seven. Over the years, he has held several significant roles, including Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, Transport Secretary, and International Development Secretary under the leadership of Tony Blair and Gordon Brown.
