Dru Lavigne

Dru Lavigne is a distinguished network and systems administrator, IT instructor, and technical writer, currently serving as the director at the FreeBSD Foundation. With a rich history of utilizing FreeBSD since nineteen ninety-six, she has dedicated over a decade to developing training materials and providing education on the administration of FreeBSD systems.

As an accomplished author, Dru has penned several influential books on BSD, including the well-regarded 'BSD Hacks' and 'The Best of FreeBSD Basics.' Her latest work, 'The Definitive Guide to PC-BSD,' was released in March two thousand ten. In addition to her books, she has contributed articles to notable publications such as O'Reilly, TechRepublic, DNSStuff, and OpenLogic, showcasing her expertise in the field.

In her commitment to the BSD community, Dru founded the BSD Certification Group Inc., a non-profit organization aimed at establishing a standard for certifying BSD system administrators. She also plays a vital role as the Community Manager for both the PC-BSD and FreeNAS projects, where she oversees community relations and the administration of various forums.

Since January twenty-second, two thousand thirteen, Dru has been a committer in the 'doc' category at the FreeBSD Project, further solidifying her influence and contributions to the open-source community.
