Duraisamy Simon Lourdusamy

Duraisamy Simon Lourdusamy, born on February fifth, nineteen twenty-four, was a distinguished Indian cardinal of the Catholic Church. His remarkable journey in the ecclesiastical hierarchy culminated in his elevation to the cardinalate in nineteen eighty-five, marking him as the fourth cardinal from India and the first curial cardinal of Asia outside the Middle East.

Throughout his illustrious career, Lourdusamy served as the Prefect of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches within the Roman Curia.
