Dylan Cozens

Dylan Cozens, born on February ninth, two thousand one, is a prominent Canadian professional ice hockey player currently serving as a centre for the Ottawa Senators in the National Hockey League (NHL). Hailing from Whitehorse, Yukon, Cozens has made history as the first player from his region to be a first-round draft pick in both the Western Hockey League (WHL) and the NHL, as well as a member of the Canada men's national junior ice hockey team.

From a young age, Cozens displayed a passion for ice hockey, beginning his skating journey on a backyard rink at the tender age of three. His early experiences included competing against older players due to the limited number of participants in his hometown. After a challenging incident in a house league game, he made the pivotal decision to relocate to British Columbia, where he could play within his age group and further develop his skills.

His career took off after joining the WHL's Lethbridge Hurricanes, where he made an impressive debut with twenty-two goals and fifty-three points in his rookie season, earning the Jim Piggott Memorial Trophy for the top first-year player. Cozens continued to excel, amassing eighty-four points in sixty-eight games in his second season and eighty-five points in fifty-one games before the COVID-19 pandemic interrupted the 2019-2020 WHL season. His final WHL season saw him recognized as a First Team All-Star and a runner-up for the Four Broncos Memorial Trophy.

Transitioning to the NHL, Cozens joined the Buffalo Sabres for the 2020-2021 season, where he made an immediate impact by recording a point in his debut. Despite facing challenges such as COVID-19 protocols and injuries during his rookie season, he adapted to the league's demands. In the following season, he returned to his natural centre position after key player departures. In two thousand twenty-five, Cozens was traded to the Ottawa Senators, marking a new chapter in his promising career.
