E. G. Marshall

Everett Eugene Grunz, known to the world as E. G. Marshall, was born on June 18, 1914, and left an indelible mark on American theater and film. A distinguished actor, he was among the first group selected for the prestigious Actors Studio, showcasing his talent in major Broadway productions by 1948.

Marshall's film career is perhaps best highlighted by his role as the composed and analytical Juror 4 in Sidney Lumet's iconic courtroom drama, 12 Angry Men, released in nineteen fifty-seven. His ability to portray complex characters made him a sought-after actor in both film and television.

In addition to his film work, Marshall starred in the CBS legal drama The Defenders and portrayed the President of the United States in Superman II, which premiered in nineteen eighty. He also captivated audiences as the Nazi collaborator Henri Denault in the prime-time drama Falcon Crest in nineteen eighty-two.

Beyond the screen, Marshall was a familiar voice as the host of the radio drama series CBS Radio Mystery Theater, which aired from nineteen seventy-four to nineteen eighty-two, further solidifying his legacy in the entertainment industry.
