Earl Sweatshirt

Thebe Neruda Kgositsile, born on February 24, 1994, is widely recognized in the music industry as Earl Sweatshirt, an American rapper and record producer. His journey into the world of hip-hop began in 2008 under the moniker Sly Tendencies. However, his career took a significant turn when he was invited by Tyler, the Creator to join the alternative hip-hop collective Odd Future in late 2009, marking the beginning of his rise to fame.

At just sixteen years old, Kgositsile garnered critical acclaim for his second mixtape, Earl, released in 2010. This early success was met with a challenge when his mother sent him to a boarding school in Samoa for at-risk teens, where he spent a year and a half away from recording. Upon his return to Los Angeles in February 2012, just before turning eighteen, he rejoined Odd Future and signed a recording contract with Columbia Records, leading to the release of his debut studio album, Doris, in 2013.

Doris achieved remarkable success, peaking within the top five of the Billboard 200. Following this, his subsequent albums, I Don't Like Shit, I Don't Go Outside in 2015 and Some Rap Songs in 2018, also received critical praise, both reaching the top twenty. In 2019, he signed with Warner Records, releasing his second EP, Feet of Clay, along with his fourth and fifth studio albums, Sick! in 2022 and Live Laugh Love, which is set to release in 2025. His most recent collaboration with the Alchemist on the project Voir Dire in 2023 further showcases his evolving artistry.
