Ed Belfour, born on April twenty-first, nineteen sixty-five, is a celebrated Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. His journey began in junior hockey with the Winkler Flyers, where he showcased his talent before moving on to the University of North Dakota. There, he played a pivotal role in leading the team to victory in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) championship during the nineteen eighty-six to eighty-seven season.

After his collegiate success, Belfour signed as a free agent with the Chicago Blackhawks, having gone undrafted. He spent time alternating between the Blackhawks and the Saginaw Hawks of the International Hockey League (IHL). Over the course of his career, he became renowned as one of the elite goaltenders in the history of the sport, amassing four hundred eighty-four wins, which ranks him fifth all-time among NHL goaltenders.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to ice hockey, Belfour was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in the class of two thousand eleven, marking his first year of eligibility. He is notably one of only two players to have achieved the remarkable feat of winning an NCAA championship, an Olympic gold medal, and the Stanley Cup, alongside Neal Broten.

Belfour's distinctive face mask earned him the affectionate nickname
