Ed Clancy

Ed Clancy, born on March twelfth, nineteen eighty-five, is a distinguished British former professional track and road bicycle racer. His competitive journey spanned from two thousand four to two thousand twenty-one, during which he established himself as a formidable force in the cycling world.

Throughout his illustrious career, Clancy achieved remarkable success, securing four medals at the Summer Olympic Games, including three golds and one bronze. His prowess was further demonstrated at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships, where he garnered twelve medals, comprising six gold, five silver, and one bronze. Additionally, he claimed seven medals at the UEC European Track Championships, with five gold and two bronze, and earned a silver medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Clancy's contributions to the sport extended beyond individual accolades; he was part of eight world record times in the team pursuit, showcasing his exceptional teamwork and dedication. In recognition of his services to cycling, he was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the two thousand nine New Year Honours and later elevated to an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the two thousand seventeen New Year Honours.
