Ed Lee was an influential American politician and attorney, best known for his tenure as the 43rd Mayor of San Francisco. Born on May fifth, nineteen fifty-two, in Seattle to Chinese American parents, Lee's journey in public service began when he took office as the city administrator of San Francisco in two thousand five.

On January eleventh, two thousand eleven, he was appointed by the Board of Supervisors to fulfill the remaining term of former mayor Gavin Newsom, who had resigned to become the Lieutenant Governor of California. Lee's leadership style and dedication to the city quickly garnered him respect and support.

Following his appointment, Lee successfully ran for a full term as mayor in the election held on November eighth, two thousand eleven. His commitment to the city was further solidified when he was reelected in two thousand fifteen, continuing to shape San Francisco's future until his untimely death in two thousand seventeen.
