Eddie Dawkins

Eddie Dawkins, born on July eleventh, nineteen eighty-nine, is a distinguished New Zealand track cyclist who has made significant contributions to the sport. His career highlights include a remarkable performance at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, where he secured a silver medal in the men's sprint and a bronze in the men's one-kilometre time trial.

At the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Dawkins continued to shine, winning a bronze medal in the men's sprint and playing a crucial role in the New Zealand team that clinched gold in the team sprint alongside teammates Ethan Mitchell and Sam Webster. This team not only triumphed but also set two Commonwealth Games records during their journey.

The pinnacle of his cycling career came at the 2016 Rio Olympics, where he and his teammates earned a silver medal in the team sprint. However, he faced challenges in the individual sprint, not advancing beyond the round one repechage. Dawkins also represented New Zealand at the 2012 Summer Olympics, showcasing his talent on the world stage.

In 2018, Dawkins achieved further glory by winning gold in the team sprint event at the Commonwealth Games, again alongside Mitchell and Webster. After a successful career, he retired from professional cycling in 2020 and transitioned to powerlifting.
