Eddie Hazel

Eddie Hazel, born on April 10, 1950, was a pioneering American guitarist and songwriter, renowned for his influential role in the early funk music scene. As a lead guitarist for the iconic band Parliament-Funkadelic, Hazel's innovative style and musical prowess helped shape the sound of funk music during its formative years.

One of his most celebrated contributions is his ten-minute guitar solo in the Funkadelic classic 'Maggot Brain,' which has been hailed as one of the greatest solos of all time across all musical genres. In recognition of his significant impact on music, Eddie Hazel was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997, alongside fifteen other members of Parliament-Funkadelic.
