Eddie Keizan, born on September twelfth, nineteen forty-four, in Johannesburg, was a notable South African racing driver and engineer. His career in motorsport began with success in saloon and sports car racing in South Africa, which paved the way for his entry into the competitive world of Formula 5000. There, he achieved significant recognition by winning the national championship, showcasing his talent and determination.
In the early seventies, Keizan made his mark in Formula One, debuting on March third, nineteen seventy-three. He participated in three World Championship Grands Prix, including the prestigious South African events. Driving a Tyrrell owned by Alex Blignaut, a car previously raced by the legendary Jackie Stewart, Keizan demonstrated his skills on the international stage. For his final Formula One appearance, he took the wheel of a Lotus 72, entered by the local team, Team Gunston.
Despite not scoring any championship points during his Formula One career, Keizan's passion for racing did not wane. After his time in Formula One, he transitioned to touring car racing, where he continued to compete and hone his driving abilities. Alongside his racing endeavors, he also focused on his business ventures, notably founding and leading a successful alloy wheels company, which later evolved into the well-known tyre retail chain, Tiger Wheel & Tyre.
