Edgar Lee Masters

Edgar Lee Masters, born on August twenty-third, eighteen sixty-eight, was a multifaceted American literary figure whose contributions spanned poetry, novels, plays, and biographies. He is perhaps best known for his seminal work, Spoon River Anthology, published in nineteen fifteen, which captured the essence of small-town life through a series of poignant character sketches.
