Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Edgar Lungu

Edgar Lungu, born on November eleventh, nineteen fifty-six, was a prominent Zambian politician and lawyer who made significant contributions to the country's political landscape. He served as the sixth president of Zambia from January twenty-six, two thousand fifteen, until August twenty-four, two thousand twenty-one. Lungu's political journey began under the leadership of President Michael Sata, where he held the positions of Minister of Justice and Minister of Defence.

Following the untimely death of President Sata in October two thousand fourteen, Lungu was nominated as the candidate for the Patriotic Front during the party's convention in Kabwe. He successfully contested the presidential by-election in January two thousand fifteen, narrowly defeating opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema and officially took office on January twenty-five, two thousand fifteen.

In August two thousand sixteen, Lungu was re-elected for a full presidential term, once again facing Hichilema. The election results were contested, leading to a legal challenge at the Constitutional Court, which ultimately ruled in Lungu's favor on September fifth, allowing him to be sworn in for his first full term on September thirteenth, two thousand sixteen.

However, Lungu's presidency came to an end in two thousand twenty-one when he was defeated by Hakainde Hichilema in the presidential election. Tragically, Edgar Lungu passed away in June two thousand twenty-five in Pretoria, South Africa, due to complications following surgery.
