Edi Rama

Edi Rama, born on July fourth, nineteen sixty-four, is a prominent Albanian politician, artist, and writer. He has held the position of Prime Minister of Albania since two thousand thirteen and has been the chairman of the Socialist Party of Albania since two thousand five. His political career includes serving as the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports from nineteen ninety-eight to two thousand, and as the mayor of Tirana from two thousand to two thousand eleven.

In the two thousand thirteen parliamentary elections, Rama led a coalition of centre-left parties that successfully defeated the incumbent centre-right coalition led by Sali Berisha of the Democratic Party of Albania. Following this victory, he was appointed Prime Minister and has since been re-elected for additional terms in two thousand seventeen, two thousand twenty-one, and two thousand twenty-five, making him the only Albanian Prime Minister to achieve four consecutive terms.

Under Rama's leadership, Albania has experienced notable economic growth; however, his tenure has also been marked by concerns over democratic backsliding, with various sources characterizing his governance as autocratic. The country continues to face challenges, including increased emigration.
