Edita Gruberová

Edita Gruberová, born on December twenty-third, nineteen forty-six, is a celebrated Slovak coloratura soprano and esteemed music educator. She made her remarkable stage debut in Bratislava in nineteen sixty-eight, captivating audiences as Rosina in Rossini's 'Il barbiere di Siviglia'. The following year, her talent shone through during an audition at the prestigious Vienna State Opera, which subsequently became her artistic home.

Gruberová gained international acclaim for her stunning portrayals of iconic roles, most notably Mozart's Queen of the Night in 'Die Zauberflöte' and Zerbinetta in Richard Strauss's 'Ariadne auf Naxos'. Her ability to navigate the complexities of these demanding characters solidified her reputation as a leading soprano of her time.

As her career progressed, she ventured into the realm of heavier roles within the Italian bel canto repertoire, taking on the title role in Donizetti's 'Lucia di Lammermoor' and Elvira in Bellini's 'I puritani'.
