Edson Buddle, born on May 21, 1981, is a distinguished American former professional soccer player who has made significant contributions to the sport. Currently, he serves as the head coach of the USL League Two side, Westchester Flames, where he imparts his extensive knowledge and experience to the next generation of players.
Beginning his professional journey in 2000 with the Long Island Rough Riders in the A-League, Buddle quickly established himself as a formidable forward. His career in Major League Soccer spanned from 2001 to 2010, during which he played for notable teams including the Columbus Crew, New York Red Bulls, Toronto FC, and LA Galaxy. His remarkable talent on the field led him to become one of only thirteen players in MLS history to score one hundred goals.
After a brief stint with FC Ingolstadt 04 in Germany's 2. Bundesliga, Buddle returned to Los Angeles, continuing to showcase his skills and passion for the game. His contributions to soccer extend beyond club play, as he has also represented the United States national team, making two appearances at the prestigious 2010 FIFA World Cup.
