Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Eduard Bloch

Eduard Bloch, born on January 30, 1872, was an Austrian physician renowned for his compassionate care in Linz. Coming from a Jewish family of Czechoslovak origin, he became notably recognized as the family doctor of Adolf Hitler and his relatives until 1907.

Bloch's most significant contribution came during the illness of Klara Hitler, Adolf's mother, whom he treated with great dedication as she battled breast cancer. His commitment to her care was evident as he charged the family very little, often providing his services for free.

In the wake of the German annexation of Austria in 1938, Bloch found himself in a precarious position. Hitler, acknowledging Bloch's past kindness, referred to him as an Edeljude, or 'noble Jew.' This designation led to Bloch receiving protection from the Geheime Staatspolizei during the tumultuous events of Kristallnacht and the rising tide of anti-Jewish sentiment in Germany.

Ultimately, Bloch was granted permission by Hitler to emigrate to the United States, where he lived until his death in 1945, succumbing to stomach cancer. His life story reflects the complexities of personal relationships amidst the backdrop of historical upheaval.
