Eduard Markarov

Eduard Markarov, born on June twentieth, nineteen forty-two, is a distinguished retired Soviet football player and coach. He made his mark as a striker for several clubs, including Torpedo Armavir, Neftchi Baku, and Ararat Yerevan, as well as representing the Soviet Union national football team.

Markarov's career highlights include being a pivotal member of the Ararat Yerevan team that clinched the Soviet Top League title in nineteen seventy-three, alongside victories in the Soviet Cup in nineteen seventy-three and nineteen seventy-five. His remarkable performance in the nineteen seventy-four to seventy-five European Cup saw him score five goals, sharing the top goalscorer title with the legendary Gerd Müller of Bayern Munich.

On the international stage, Markarov earned three caps for the Soviet national squad and participated in the nineteen sixty-six FIFA World Cup, where the team finished in fourth place.
