Eduardo Riedel

Eduardo Riedel, born on July 5, 1969, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is a prominent Brazilian politician and entrepreneur currently serving as the 12th Governor of Mato Grosso do Sul. A member of the Brazilian Social Democracy Party, Riedel has held various significant positions in the state government, showcasing his dedication to public service and infrastructure development.

Riedel's academic background is impressive, with degrees from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, the Getúlio Vargas Foundation, and the European Institute of Business Administration. His career in public service began to flourish when he was appointed Secretary of State for Government and Strategic Management in Mato Grosso do Sul from 2015 to 2021, under the administration of Governor Reinaldo Azambuja.

In addition to his governmental roles, Riedel has been actively involved in agricultural organizations, serving as president of the Maracaju Union in 1999 and as vice-president of the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of Mato Grosso do Sul. His leadership extended to the National Confederation of Agriculture, where he contributed to the agricultural sector on a national level.

Riedel's commitment to infrastructure was evident during his tenure as Secretary of State for Infrastructure and Housing from February 2021 to April 2022. In July 2021, he was appointed chairman of the Management Committee of the Economy Health and Safety Program (Proseguir). In 2022, he ran for governor, partnering with José Carlos Barbosa, also known as Barbosinha, as his running mate, further solidifying his influence in the political landscape of Mato Grosso do Sul.
