His career in public service began to flourish when he was appointed Secretary of State for Government and Strategic Management in Mato Grosso do Sul from 2015 to 2021, under the administration of Governor Reinaldo Azambuja.

In addition to his governmental roles, Riedel has been actively involved in agricultural organizations, serving as president of the Maracaju Union in 1999 and as vice-president of the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of Mato Grosso do Sul. His leadership extended to the National Confederation of Agriculture, where he contributed to the agricultural sector on a national level.
