Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Edward Shearmur

Edward Shearmur, born on February twenty-eighth, nineteen sixty-six, in London, England, is a distinguished British film composer known for his evocative scores. At the tender age of seven, he began his musical journey as a member of the boys' choir at Westminster Cathedral. His education at Eton College laid a strong foundation, which he furthered at the Royal College of Music, eventually earning a scholarship to Pembroke College, Cambridge.

Shearmur's career took off as he worked alongside renowned composer Michael Kamen, serving as an orchestration and conducting assistant on iconic films such as Licence to Kill, Die Hard, and Lethal Weapon. His first full-length feature score for The Cement Garden garnered critical acclaim, winning the director's prize at the Berlin Film Festival. This success paved the way for his major feature score in The Wings of the Dove in nineteen ninety-seven, marking the beginning of a prolific career.

Over the years, Shearmur has composed music for a diverse array of popular films, including both Charlie's Angels movies, Cruel Intentions, Species II, and K-PAX. In twenty twenty-three, he showcased his talent once again by composing the soundtrack for the film adaptation of Ernest Hemingway's last novel, Across the River and into the Trees.

In addition to his film work, Shearmur has made significant contributions as a keyboardist and arranger, collaborating with rock legends such as Eric Clapton, Peter Gabriel, and Pink Floyd. His unique compositional style has also influenced ambient artist David Helpling. Edward Shearmur was married to film producer Allison Shearmur until her untimely passing from lung cancer in January twenty eighteen, and they are the proud parents of two children.
