Ekaterini Thanou

Ekaterini Thanou, born on February 1, 1975, is a distinguished former Greek sprinter renowned for her remarkable achievements in athletics. She gained international acclaim for her prowess in the 100 metres, securing an Olympic silver medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics held in Sydney, Australia. Her athletic journey is marked by her triumph as the 2002 European champion in Munich, Germany, showcasing her exceptional talent on the track.

In addition to her Olympic success, Thanou has made her mark in indoor competitions, where she was crowned both world and European champion in the 60 metres.
